Shots fired at Saudi embassy in The Hague

The Hague – Thursday morning, November 12, there was a shooting at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia on the Koninginnegracht in The Hague.

Within minutes after the shooting many police units arrived and started a big investigation. In the front walls of the building they found more than 20 gunshot impacts.

Police officers made a crime scene in front of the embassy. Several bullet sleeves can be seen lying on the street.

The police is currently investigating the scene.

UPDATE: The police have arrested a 40-year-old man in a house in the city of Zoetermeer. He is suspected of *a* shooting at the embassy.

UPDATE 11/16/2020: A 40-year-old man from Zoetermeer who is suspected of shooting at the embassy of Saudi Arabia on Thursday was brought before the judge on Monday. He has extended the man’s custody by 14 days.

The man is suspected of committing violence against a building of an internationally protected person and attempted murder of the guard of this building, all with a terrorist aim.

The man has been previously sentenced to a fine for damaging the same building.

Currently the investigation is still in progress. The police are still looking for witnesses who saw the man around the time of shooting.

UPDATE 11/26/2020: Wednesday the court of justice has decided to extend the man’s custody by 90 days.
